Anyone can write a good property description. The question that matters is whether what's described actually exists, matches the photos, and is what a host is legally able to rent out.
Before a property is marked Squad Verified on BreezeStay, our on-ground team physically visits the property. That visit checks that the unit exists at the stated address, that its condition matches the listing photos, and that basic safety and habitability expectations are met. This is not an automated check or a self-attestation by the host — it's a real visit by a real person.
A 24-hour move-in photo audit protects the security deposit on both sides: timestamped photos of the property's condition at move-in create a shared reference point, so a deposit dispute months later isn't a matter of memory or word against word.
Hosts also complete a one-time KYC process — government ID verification, reviewed manually rather than by an automated pass — before they can list. This is the same standard applied whether a host is listing their first room or their fifteenth property.
None of this makes fraud impossible. It does mean that every listing carries a real, traceable verification step behind it, not just a badge.
